Call for Robot Challenges

The International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) is seeking organizers to propose and run Robotics Challenge events. Our goal is to make the challenges accessible to all members of the ICRA community, to integrate them tightly with the technical aspects of the conference, and to encourage as many participants as possible to bring their teams and participate.

Notifications: 24 August 2014
ICRA 2015: 26-30 May 2015

Submission Guidelines

Prospective organizers should submit a proposal, maximum five pages in length, containing the following information:

  • Title
  • Abstract appropriate for possible web promotion of the challenge
  • Detailed description of the challenge and its relevance to the ICRA conference
  • Plan for soliciting participation
  • Proposed schedule for receiving submissions
  • Short bio of the organizers
  • Funding source (if any) that supports or could support the challenge
  • Preference or requirements (if any) for space or special sessions

Both academic and corporate organizers are welcome. Proposals will be evaluated based on relevance, originality, ambition, feasibility, and implementation plan. The ICRA organizers offer support with basic logistics and with the identification of additional funding sources. Proposals should be emailed to the ICRA 2015 Challenge Chairs. Prospective organizers are also encouraged to contact the Chairs in case of questions.
