Travel Grants

Due to support from the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and the US National Science Foundation, applications for partial travel support will be accepted for attendees from the following categories:

  • student authors who are IEEE Robotics and Automation Society student members to attend ICRA and present their work
  • authors from developing countries who are IEEE Robotics and Automation Society members to attend ICRA and present their papers (IEEE uses the IAWP Developing Country Listing, in which developing countries are listed in red)
  • US Ph.D. students (citizens and permanent residents, airfare must be from a US flag carrier)

Travel awards will provide partial funding for attendance at ICRA 2015. The award may consist of lodging in a special room block at a conference hotel and/or reimbursement for authorized travel expenses after ICRA 2015.

Applications will be submitted online at the url below.  The application deadline is March 31, 2015, and we expect awards to be made by the end of April. We had hoped to announce awards sooner but many more applications were received than anticipated and it is taking longer to review them. We are working hard to get decisions out as soon as possible.

The application requests:

  1. information about the applicant,
  2. information about any ICRA 2015 papers for which the applicant is a co-author,
  3. a statement about how attendance at ICRA 2015 will impact the applicant, and
  4. a resume/CV of the applicant to be uploaded to the system.

Additionally, for students, the application requires an endorsement from the student’s advisor; this is handled electronically by the system.

If an applicant receives travel support, he/she must report at the conference site with a flight receipt and passport (international applicants) or ID (US citizens). Instructions regarding the reimbursement process will be posted at a later date.
